Counting Down to In Time

Yes, it has been a long time since I last posted, but between internet problems at home (the only kind of domestic problem a single guy living alone may have other than cooking) and traveling by car on the weekend I’ve been hard pressed to write about let alone see a movie.
This weekend a potentially good movie is back on the silver screens of America, In TimeIn Time looks to further the string of movies designed to turn Justin Timberlake from teen heartthrob singing sensation into a multi-talented superstar (some would say he already is due to his popular appearances on Saturday Night Live).  Coming off successes in The Social Network and Friends With Benefits, the superior movie to No Strings Attached from what I’ve heard, In Time should cement Timberlake as an actor who can open a movie if it can win the #1 spot from Paranormal Activity 3: Most Paranormal, Most Active [ed. note, not actual title].
In Time is set in an alternate world or semi-dystopian future, I’m unsure which, where instead of cash people pay for things with time.  This is because at age 25 everyone stops aging, but must work to live.  The wealthy have hundreds of years to live, essentially immortality, while the poor must work to survive another day. This movie may have been one of the easiest sells to movie studios ever, a sci-fi action movie with a cast entirely of attractive 20-30 year olds chasing each other, all while mostly wearing suits.  That pitch is up there with Steven Spielberg saying “I want to make a movie where dinosaurs chase people” as a guaranteed green light pitch.  Also, if for no other reason than that Congress may propose this as a solution to our deficit issues, you should probably see this movie.
What other attractive actors and actresses will be racing against the clock in In Time? How about the capable Amanda Seyfried (Big Love, Mama Mia!), the underrated Cilian Murphy (Batman Begins), Mad Men star Vincent Kartheiser, and featuring plot driving appearances by Matt Bomer (White Collar) and Olivia Wilde (House).
I most likely won’t be able to see In Time on opening weekend due to my Halloween travel schedule, and that hopefully won’t be the case for all of America, but I think the movie looks fun and the premise is cool. If my go look at beautiful people running pitch didn’t sway you, there are a variety of trailers available online to checkout as well.
